Kohat (APP) - 21 more bodies that drowned in Kohat's Tanda Dam have been recovered. The number of students killed in the boat capsizing accident has reached 51. According to the detail, the search and rescue operation to find the children who drowned in the lake after the boat overturned in Kohat's Tanda Dam on Sunday continues for the third day. During the operation today, the bodies of 21 students who drowned in the lake were recovered and shifted to the hospital. After the bodies recovered today, the number of people killed in the boat capsizing incident has reached fifty-one. Rescue boats and expert divers are taking part in the search and rescue operation at Tanda Dam. Deputy Commissioner Kohat said that five students have been rescued during the operation. All resources are being used to find the missing children.

ISLAMABAD, Jan 12:The sale of cars during the first six months of current fiscal year 2022-23, has dropped by 39.96 percent as compared to the same months of last year, a latest data released by Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA). According to the data, as many as 68,900 cars were sold during July-December 2022-23 as opposed to 114,774 units during July- December 2021-22. The breakup figures showed that 8,906 units of Honda Civic and City were sold during the corresponding period of the year 2022-23 as compared to the sale of 17,620 units last year, thus showing a dip of 49.45 percent. Toyota Corolla and Yaris cars’ sale also decreased by 58.57 percent as it went down to 12,065 units current year from 29,126 units in the same period of previous year. MULTAN, Jan 10: Local authorities set up 59 wheat sale points here on Tuesday to supply the commodity to the public at reasonable rates. Special checking teams headed by Assistant Commissioners were formed to monitor smooth supply to consumers from all points, according to a press release issued. According to Deputy Commissioner Tahir Vito, about 34,000 bags of flour are being distributed here daily. He said that apart from Multan city, two cell points have been set up in Tehsil Shujaabad, one in Tehsil Jalalpur Pirwala and eleven in Tehsil Sadar. He said that about 24000 bags of flour are being supplied daily in the central markets of the city. He rejected the shortage of flour and added that the government has more than its required stock available.
