6,000 cops deployed in Rawalpindi for security of Muharram processions

RAWALPINDI, Aug 06: The Rawalpindi Police have deployed over 6,000 cops to provide security cover to 447 processions and 1925 Majlis to be held in various parts of the city from 6th-10th Muharram.  According to the police spokesman, Rawalpindi Police has made special managements to ensure foolproof security during Muharram. During Muharram, more than 2,000 volunteers would perform duties along with officers and volunteers of the district police, ladies police, elite force, traffic police and dolphin force, he added.  He said special arrangements had been made for the training of volunteers whereas officers and officials from Punjab Highway Patrol and Punjab Constabulary would also perform security duties. CTP launch 24-hour driving licensing services facility

Traffic and driving license RAWALPINDI, May 31: City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi on the directives of City Police Officer, Rawalpindi Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari on Tuesday launched 24-hour driving license service facility here at CTP Headquarters. According to a CTP spokesman, special arrangements had been made at CTP Headquarters on the instructions of Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi Naveed Irshad to provide round the clock driving license facilities to the students, businessmen, public and private sector employees and others.  The facility introduced for the first time in Punjab would make the citizens able to avail driving license services 24 hours at the Traffic Headquarters, he added. Rawalpindi Police crackdown against kite sellers and flyers

Feb 5, Rawalpindi district police has started the crackdown against kite flying ban violators including sellers and flyers in the city. During recent crackdown police has arrested 58 violators and recovered over 13000 kites and 200 kites flying string rolls. Police have conducted frequent raids and operations in this context around the city. According to a police spokesman, the CPO had directed the officers concerned to utilize all available resources to arrest the kite flying ban violators, kite sellers and those involved in aerial firing. The CPO also appreciated police performance and directed to continue raids to take strict action against sellers and flyers. The CPO said that the kite flying ban violations and aerial firing would not be tolerated so strict action in accordance with the law should be taken against the violators, adding, special teams had also been constituted to control kite flying and aerial firing.
