Int'l Youth Day to be marked on Aug 12

ISLAMABAD, Aug 10: International Youth Day will be marked  on August 12 (Friday) across the globe including Pakistan to recognize efforts of the world’s youth in enhancing global society. It also aims to promote ways to engage them in becoming more actively involved in making positive contributions to their communities. Many activities and events that take place around the world on International Youth Day promote the benefits that young people bring into the world. Many countries participate in this global event, which may include youth conferences on issues such as education and employment. ISLAMABAD, May 29: Global Day of Parents will be marked on June 1 (Wednesday) across the globe including Pakistan to honor parents and their commitment to children worldwide. Parents play an important part in shaping one's life. People all over the world have the opportunity to appreciate parents and parental figures for the vital role they play in the development of families. Community leaders, parents, children, teachers, and family organizations get together in celebrating the day and promoting effective parenting. On September 17, 2012, the UN publicly declared that the Global Day of Parents would be held annually on June 1. This observance recognizes parents as vital in providing protection and positive development for their children. The UN also noted that parents of every race, religion, culture and nationality in all parts of the world were the primary caregivers and teachers of their children.

Air pollution increases risk of cognitive decline: study

BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua):Long-term exposure to PM2.5 air pollution increases the risk of cognitive decline and may prematurely result in Alzheimer's disease, according to a new scientific study. The results, which were published in the journal Biological Psychiatry, show that air pollution, such as PM2.5, ground-level ozone and nitrogen dioxide, can induce neurotoxic reactions and may exert adverse effects on human cognitive health. The study was conducted by an international team led by Chinese researchers from the Shanghai-based Huashan Hospital of Fudan University. They used data from 31,573 participants in a survey concerning health and aging, the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey, and 1,131 participants from a cohort study on Alzheimer's disease. They found that a rise of 20 micrograms per cubic meter in PM2.5 exposure could lead to a 10 percent increased risk of cognitive decline, and exposures to ground-level ozone and nitrogen dioxide yielded elevated risk b

Wind farm at Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao generate 1bln kWh Green energy

BEIJING, March 28: An offshore wind farm in the coastal area of Shapa Town, south China's Guangdong Province, had generated one billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity by March 25 this year, the Science and Technology Daily reported Monday. The amount of electricity generated can replace 307,600 tonnes of standard coal and reduce 840,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to growing 3,309 hectares of broad-leaved forest, according to the news report. The wind farm, providing green energy for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, was funded and constructed by the China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co., Ltd, with a total installed capacity of two million kW. It consists of 315 offshore wind turbines, four offshore booster stations and almost 1,000 kilometers of submarine cables. SpaceX has launched Falcon 9 carries an Italian Earth observation satellite. This is Fourth launch and landing of Falcon 9 this year. The satellite sent into space was funded by the Italian Space Agency, the Italian Ministry of Defense and the Italian Ministry of Education.  Purpose: It will 'monitor the Earth for the sake of emergency prevention, strategy, scientific and commercial purposes,' according to the European Space Agency.

World Hijab Day: Awareness about hijab and Islam

February 1 is celebrated as World Hijab Day, a worldwide advocacy campaign to help spread awareness about the hijab and Islam. Hijab is Modesty and Dignity. Hijab is privacy. Hijab is a choice. And democratic laws allowed the right of speech, right of wearing and right to exercise it's religious beliefs. The hijab day campaign was first stated in 2013. In 2017, World Hijab Day became a nonprofit organization with a mission to fight discrimination against Muslim women through awareness and education. It has aimed to raise awareness about Muslim women who wear the headscarf, who frequently face discrimination for doing so in every Feb. 1 Woman named,  Nazma Khan (Bangladeshi-american) is the founder of World Hijab Day. World Hijab Day will surely bring awareness to people. People will be educated about the hijab. World largest quran|Pakistan pavilion| Dubai Expo 2020

March 31 was the last day to display world’s largest Quran at Dubai Expo 2020 in Pakistan Pavilion  A large numbers of visitors have visited the Pakistan Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020 to see what is said be the world’s largest Quran designed by a Pakistani-Canadian artist Shahid Rassam. Surah Ar-Rahman, a chapter of the Islamic scripture, has been cast on a high-quality canvas with aluminum and gold-plated script, was started to display at Pak pavilion on January 24. As per arthur, he has not written the Holy Quran with color or ink. Instead, it has been cast on the canvas with aluminum and gold-plated words for the first time in the Islamic history. this unique installation has 1,585 letters, 352 words and 78 verses which are spread over six pages. The first two pages had only five lines while the rest of them had ten. Approximately 15 kilograms of aluminum and more than one kilogram of gold are required on the special canvas.

Why "Hijab is our right" trend in India?

Islamabad, Jan 19: Hashtag "Hijab is our right" is trending in India so what actually this trend is and why. What is trending? A photo is circulating in Social media where a group of 06 girls is seen to sit outside the classroom wearing Hijab. What is actual issue? A government-run women's college in Udupi district in India's Karnataka state force Muslim girls to sit outside the classroom because they were wearing Hijab or headscarf. Despite regular attendance following the incident, the students have been marked absent from their classes since 31 December. While the principal of the collage is alleged the girls were defying the rules since Hijab is not part of the uniform. Does Indian law allow this? Indian constitution gives these right. 1- Right to Equality(Article 14-18) 2- Right to Freedom of Religion(Article 25-28) 3- Cultural, Educational Rights(Article 29-30) Then question arises Under which article Udupi college has Banned Hijab?
