Kashmir Solidarity Day to be observed with zest on Feb (Sunday)

Islamabad, Feb 04 : The Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed on Sunday, February 05, in the provincial capital like the rest of the country with zeal and zest.

The day is observed to express solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for freedom from Illegal Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and for their right of self-determination and a just struggle in the face of India’s increasingly oppressive policies and atrocities.

Seminars, rallies and programs will be organised by the public and private organizations and institutions. The provincial government will also arrange several programs to express solidarity with the Kashmiris.

Some private and government educational and other institutions organized seminars and rallies in connection with Kashmir Day on Friday (yesterday) to express their solidarity with the Kashmiri brothers.

Religious and political parties, including Jamaat e Islami, Jamiat Ahlehadith, Pakistan Peoples Party and PML-N are going to hold programmes on Sunday to express their solidarity with Kashmiri people and against Indian atrocities.

Payments to new beneficiaries of `Sasta Petrol Scheme’ will begin from July 4

ISLAMABAD, Jun 30:The process of payments of Rs. 2000 for the new eligible beneficiaries applied for the “Sasta Petrol/Sasta Diesel” scheme of the government through sending SMS to the 786 will start from July 4. According to the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Pakistan, the eligible beneficiaries of the scheme who registered through 786 will start getting their payment of Rs. 2000. However, the existing beneficiaries of Benazir Kafalat program are already receiving their payments of Rs. 2000 from the designated banks. Till Wednesday, out of eight million registered families of Benazir Kafalat program, Rs. 6.67 billion has been disbursed among 3,339,000 families. Rawalpindi Police crackdown against kite sellers and flyers

Feb 5, Rawalpindi district police has started the crackdown against kite flying ban violators including sellers and flyers in the city. During recent crackdown police has arrested 58 violators and recovered over 13000 kites and 200 kites flying string rolls. Police have conducted frequent raids and operations in this context around the city. According to a police spokesman, the CPO had directed the officers concerned to utilize all available resources to arrest the kite flying ban violators, kite sellers and those involved in aerial firing. The CPO also appreciated police performance and directed to continue raids to take strict action against sellers and flyers.
